MLS: New England 2, D.C. United 1

FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- New England's Jeff Larentowicz and Taylor Twellman scored and the Revolution held on Wednesday for a 2-1 Major League Soccer win over D.C. United

Larentowicz, a midfielder, took a pass from Twellman early in the second half and fired a shot into the net, making the score 2-0.

Twellman was credited with the Revolution's other goal, in the 24th minute. Khano Smith made a pass that ricocheted off two players before hitting Twellman's feet and going into the goal.

D.C. forward Jaime Moreno got United's goal with just over 20 minutes to play, directing a rebound shot over goalkeeper Doug Warren.

New England is 11-6-3 and D.C. United is 9-10-1.
