ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Travis Metcalf hit two of Texas's six home runs Wednesday to key the Rangers' 9-1 rout of Detroit.
Winner Ken Millwood (7-7) pitched a complete-game six-hitter.
Metcalf belted a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the second, a solo shot in the seventh, and along with Josh Hamilton, had three hits in a 14-hit attack.
The others homers were solos by Michael Young in the third, and Brandon Boggs, Hamilton and Milton Bradley, all in the fourth.
Marlon Byrd and Joaquin Arias had two hits each for the Rangers, who had lost the previous five games between the teams this season.
Detroit avoided a shutout when Miguel Cabrera hit an RBI double in the fourth.
He was one of six players who got a hit for the Tigers, who had won four of their last six games.
Losing pitcher Nate Robertson (7-10) surrendered eight runs -- six earned -- and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.
