NEW YORK, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Right-hander Mike Pelfrey tossed a three-hitter and David Wright homered Wednesday in a 6-3 New York Mets win over the Atlanta Braves.
Pelfrey, pitching his first major league complete game, struck out three batters, walked three and singled in a run. He has won 10 of his last 12 starts.
Wright led off the fifth inning with his 24th home run of the season. Daniel Murphy added two RBI for the Mets, who have won eight of their last nine games.
Gregor Blanco had two hits and an RBI for the Braves. Jeff Francoeur got the other Atlanta hit.
Losing pitcher air Jurrjens (11-9) gave up six runs and six hits in five innings.
