CLEVELAND, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Franklin Gutierrez's three-run homer in a five-run eighth inning Wednesday helped fuel Cleveland's come-from-behind 8-5 win over Kansas City.

With Kansas City leading 5-3, Kelly Shoppach's second solo homer started the rally with one out in the bottom of the eighth and later Gutierrez's blast capped the outburst.

Jhonny Peralta hit a two-run shot in the first.

Ryan Garko had one RBI and the Indians made the most of five hits in their sixth win in 10 games against Kansas City this season.

The winner was reliever Juan Rincon (3-3). Jensen Lewis earned his fourth save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

One of Mike Aviles' three hits was a fifth-inning, three-run double.

Jose Guillen hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the first and one run scored on Shoppach's fifth-inning throwing error for the Royals, losers of seven of eight.

The losing pitcher after his third blown save was closer Joakim Soria (1-3).
