MLB: Minnesota 13, Oakland 2

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Brian Buscher was 3-for-4 with a homer and five RBI Tuesday, fueling the Minnesota Twins' 13-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Justin Morneau was 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored; Randy Ruiz and Brendan Harris each had two hits and a pair of RBI; and Carlos Gomez had a two-run homer for the Twins.

Kevin Slowey (10-8) struck out 12 while allowing two runs -- only one earned -- on five hits through seven innings. The Twins still remain a game behind the American League Central-leading Chicago White Sox, who beat Seattle 5-0 Tuesday.

Sean Gallagher (1-2) gave up 10 runs on 11 hits and three walks in five innings. Kurt Suzuki hit a solo homer for the A's, who have lost five of seven.
