
ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson had two triples and drove in four runs Monday night to lead the Detroit Tigers past Texas 8-7.
Kenny Rogers (9-10) went six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with four walks and seven strikeouts to get the victory.
Gary Sheffield stroked a two-run homer for Detroit, which won for just the third time in its last eight games. Brandon Inge had two hits, reached base four times, scored twice and knocked in a run for the Tigers.
Texas starter Scott Feldman shut out Detroit for six innings but failed to record an out in the seventh when the Tigers scored four runs.
Frank Francisco (2-5) was tagged with the loss in relief.
Chris Davis had three hits and Michael Young and Frank Catalanotto each drove in two runs for the Rangers, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games.
