Olympic Medal: W Discus Throw

BEIJING, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Stephanie Brown Trafton of the United States won the Olympic gold medal Monday in the women's discus.

It was the first gold medal in track and field for the United States and it took four days of Olympic competition to get it.

Yarelys Barrios of Cuba took the silver and Olena Antonova of Ukraine grabbed the bronze.
