ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Carlos Pena and B.J. Upton combined for six RBI Sunday, powering the Tampa Bay Rays to a 7-4 win over the Texas Rangers.

Pena clubbed a three-run home run in the third inning that put the Rays ahead 4-0. Upton hit a two-run homer that made it 7-1 in the fourth. Upton also drove in a run with a double.

Scott Kazmir (9-6) allowed two runs and four hits in six innings to pick up the win. Kazmir struck out seven batters and walked four.

Travis Metcalf hit a solo homer for Texas, which has lost nine of 11 games. Josh Hamilton and Brandon Boggs each added an RBI and another Rangers' run came home on a bases-loaded walk.

Losing pitcher Dustin Nippert (1-3) gave up all the Rays' runs and eight hits in four innings.
