Tommie Harris' wife dies

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Matt Harrison and Eddie Guardado combined on a three-hit shutout Saturday keying the Texas Rangers' 3-0 win over Tampa Bay.
Harrison (5-2) gave up the three hits in eight scoreless innings with no walks and eight strikeouts.
Guardado earned his fourth save.
Texas scored on Ian Kinsler's first-inning solo homer and an RBI double by Michael Young and a bases-load walk to Brandon Boggs in the seventh. Kinsler and Young had two hits apiece for the Rangers, who broke a four-game losing streak.
Three players had one hit each for the Rays, whose three-game winning streak ended.
Losing pitcher Edwin Jackson (9-8) gave up an earned run and five hits in six innings with three walks and six strikeouts.
