BALTIMORE, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson injured his left knee Saturday late in the first quarter of a pre-season game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Minnesota wound up beating Baltimore 23-15.

Jackson, on the Vikings' second possession of the game, was scrambling around the right side of the line when he was hit on the leg by Ravens linebacker Antwan Barnes and then taken down by Ray Lewis and Dawan Landry. The severity of the injury was not immediately known.

The third-year signal-caller looked solid on the game's first drive, orchestrating an 11-play possession that resulted in a 23-yard touchdown pass to Martin Nance.

Jackson completed 7-of-11 passes for 82 yards and the TD before being injured and replaced by Gus Frerotte.
