MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Brian Buscher's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday lifted the Minnesota Twins to a 7-6 win over Seattle, their third straight win.
Minnesota's 5-0 lead after two innings was trumped by Seattle's six-run sixth, but Jason Kubel's RBI single in the eighth tied the contest 6-6, setting the stage for Buscher's game-winner.
Joe Mauer had three hits, one a solo first inning homer, three runs and two RBI. Four others had one RBI and three players had two hits for the Twins, winners of four of five.
The winner was Dennys Reyes (3-0).
In Seattle's six-run outburst, both Ichiro Suzuki and Jeff Clement hit two-run singles while Adrian Beltre and Yuniesky Betancourt had one RBI apiece. Four players had two hits for the Mariners, who have dropped five of six.
The losing pitcher was Cesar Jimenez (0-2).
