MLB: St. Louis 3, Florida 0

MIAMI, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Todd Wellemeyer, with help from three relievers, notched his 10th win of the season for the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday, a 3-0 shutout of the Florida Marlins.

Wellemeyer (10-4) allowed just three hits in 7 2/3 innings. Russ Springer, Ron Villone and Ryan Franklin shut down the Marlins the rest of the way.

Ryan Ludwick smashed a two-run home run and hit an RBI double for of the Cardinals, who won three games of a four-game series against the Marlins.

Scott Olsen (6-8) took the loss, giving up three runs and 10 hits in seven innings.
