CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Mark Buehrle combined with two relievers on a five-hit shutout Wednesday to help the Chicago White Sox secure a 4-0 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Buehrle (10-10) hurled seven scoreless innings with no walks and five strikeouts.

Hard-throwing relievers Octavio Dotel and Bob Jenks finished up with scoreless eighth and ninth innings.

Four players drove in one run each and Orlando Cabrera had two of the seven hits the White Sox, who have won three of four and maintained their one-half-game lead over Minnesota in the AL Central Division.

They last won consecutive shutouts April 12-13, both against Detroit, and on Tuesday they registered a similar 4-0 win.

Billy Butler had two of the five hits in the Royals' sixth loss in their last seven games.

Losing pitcher Luke Hochevar (6-11) surrendered three earned runs and five hits in seven innings.
