MLB: N.Y. Yankees 9, Minnesota 6 (12 inn.)

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Xavier Nady and Alex Rodriguez homered in the 12th inning Tuesday, boosting the New York Yankees to a 9-6 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Nady, who finished with four RBI, cracked a two-run home run and Rodriguez hit a solo homer.

Johnny Damon homered, and Derek Jeter had three hits and knocked in a run for New York.

Delmon Young hit a three-run homer, Adam Everett had two RBI and Brian Buscher drove in a run for the Twins.

Matt Guerrier (6-6), victim of the Yankees' winning rally, was the loser.

Jose Veras (3-1) picked up the win in relief, tossing two perfect innings.
