MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Delmon Young belted a key three-run home run Wednesday in guiding Minnesota to a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees.
The left fielder's seventh home run of the season gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Brian Buscher hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth and, like Young, Joe Mauer had two hits for the Twins, who move into a tie for first place with the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central Division.
Winner Kevin Slowey (9-8) gave up an earned run and three hits in six innings.
Closer Joe Nathan followed three other relievers to record his 32nd save.
New York scored on Jason Giambi's first-inning single and Dennys Reyes' eighth-inning wild pitch.
Losing pitcher Darrell Rasner (5-9) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and four hits in five innings.
