BEIJING, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Americans Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor boosted their winning streak to 104 matches Thursday in their last appearance of Olympic group play.

The defending gold medalists swept aside Nila Haaked and Ingrid Toerlen of Norway 21-12, 21-15 in their third pool match.

They will next appear in the round of 16 Friday against opponents that had yet to be determined.

The top two teams from each of the six four-team groups advance to the knockout round along with the fourth-best, third-place finishers.

Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs of the United States also finished unbeaten in their group, as did the Chinese team of Tian Jia and Wang Jie.
