MLB: Toronto 6, Detroit 4

DETROIT, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells cracked a two-run double during a four-run, seventh-inning rally Tuesday that lifted the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-4 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Joe Inglett sent in a run with a groundout and Mark Scutaro had an RBI single in the Jays' seventh.

Gary Sheffield hit two solo home runs and Magglio Ordonez added a solo homer for Detroit, which has dropped nine of its last 12 games.

Toronto's A.J. Burnett (15-9) won his fifth straight start. Burnett allowed the Tigers four runs with eight hits, striking out six in six innings. B.J. Ryan earned his 23rd save of the season.

Joel Zumaya (0-2), who gave up two runs in the seventh without getting an out, was tagged with the loss.
