
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- James Loney drove in three runs, Matt Kemp had three hits and scored twice and the Los Angeles Dodgers held on to beat Philadelphia 8-6 Monday night.
Loney, Kemp and Jeff Kent had three hits each to lead a 16-hit attack. Manny Ramirez had two hits and two RBI and Casey Blake had two hits, including a two-run homer to cap a six-run third inning for the Dodgers, who had lost two of three in a weekend series at San Francisco.
LA starter Derek Lowe (9-10) went 6 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
Jonathan Broxton pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief, giving up two runs on three hits but still getting is eighth save.
Chase Utley and Ryan Howard each drove in two runs for the Phillies, who lost for the first time in three games.
Kyle Kendrick (10-6) started for Philadelphia, lasting only 3 1/3 innings and giving up seven runs on nine hits with three walks and no strikeouts.
