AVELLINO, Italy, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Six-year NBA player Dan Dickau has signed with Avellino in the Euroleague, the Italian team announced Tuesday.

Dickau averaged 5.3 points and 2.6 assists in 67 games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season. He has also played for Atlanta, Portland, Dallas, New Orleans and Boston.

Dickau will be Avellino's starting point guard, team President Vincent Ercolino said.

"Our aim was to find a player that could make a difference and dictate the tempo of our team," Ercolino said. "In the end we managed to bring Dan Dickau to Avellino. He is a serious professional with NBA experience."
