BEIJING, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- American Anna Tunnicliffe took the lead Tuesday after the first day of Olympic sailing in the radial class.

Tunnicliffe finished fourth and fifth in the two races Tuesday and her 9 points left her 1 point in front of Belgium's Evi Van Acker.

New Zealand, meanwhile, had the lead in four classes -- the men's laser through two races, the men's 470 through four races, the women's 470 through four races and the 49er through six races.

There was no sailing Tuesday in the 49er class or in the Finn class, where American Zach Railey was in second place behind Britain's Ben Ainslie.
