SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The San Francisco 49ers have signed two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes, the team announced Sunday.
Spikes has 969 tackles, 22 1/2 sacks,15 fumble recoveries and 12 interceptions in 10 NFL seasons with Cincinnati, Buffalo and Philadelphia. He was all-pro in 2003 and 2004.
The 31-year-old Spikes played one season for the Eagles, who released him in March.
Spikes was drafted in 1998 by the Bengals.
