
SEATTLE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Willy Aybar's three-run first-inning homer Sunday started the Tampa Bay Rays on their way to an 11-3 rout of Seattle.
Aybar added a solo homer in the seventh, giving him four RBI for the game and raising his batting average to just .225 in 182 at-bats this season.
Shawn Riggans launched a three-run homer in the fifth. Four others had one RBI, while both Eric Hinske and Cliff Floyd had three hits for the Rays, who won the final three contests in the four-game series.
Winner Edwin Jackson (9-7) gave up an earned run and seven hits in seven innings.
Seattle's Jose Lopez hit a second-inning solo homer. Ichiro Suzuki, with two hits, extended his hitting streak to 16 straight games with a fifth-inning single, and Jeremy Reed had two hits and one RBI for the Mariners, who finished 4-6 on their 10-game homestand.
Losing pitcher R.A. Dickey (3-7) allowed eight earned runs and eight hits in five innings.
