MLB: Milwaukee 5, Washington 4 (13 inn.)

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Gabe Kapler's 13th-inning home run Sunday gave Milwaukee a 5-4 win over the Washington Nationals, the Brewers' fifth straight victory.

Kapler, leading off, hit a low pitch from Washington reliever Luis Ayla off the foul pole in left field.

The Brewers' Mike Rivera hit a three-run double that tied the game at 4-4 in the eighth.

Lastings Milledge homered and drove in two runs for the Nationals.

Guillermo Mota (3-5) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and picked up the win.

Ayala (1-8) took the loss.
