
NEW YORK, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla's two hits and three RBI Sunday led the Florida Marlins to an 8-2 victory against the New York Mets.
His RBI double began the scoring in the top of the second inning and his two-run double in the fifth gave Florida a 5-1 advantage.
Four others had one RBI and a run scored on Eddie Kunz' fifth inning wild pitch.
Luis Gonzalez had three hits, one a solo homer in the sixth, for the Marlins, who averted a three-game sweep.
Winner Josh Johnson (3-0), making his fifth start this season returning from Tommy John elbow surgery, allowed two earned runs and five hits in seven innings with two walks and five strikeouts.
New York got Jose Reyes' third inning RBI ground out and David Wright's sixth inning single.
Losing pitcher Mike Pelfrey (10-8) yielded six earned runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
