DETROIT, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Nate Robertson gave up a run and five hits in 7 2/3 innings Sunday to lead Detroit to a 5-1 win over the Oakland Athletics.

Two others had one RBI and one run scored on Bobby Crosby's eighth inning throwing error for the Tigers, who have won three of four following a six-game losing streak.

Emil Brown had two of the six hits in the Athletics' 11th loss in their last 12 games.

Losing pitcher Greg Smith (5-11) yielded an earned run and three hits in 4 2/3 innings, but hurt himself by walking seven batters.
