American takes lead in sailing class

BEIJING, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- American Zach Railey took the lead Sunday in the Finn class of the Olympic sailing competition.

After four races out of the 11 that will be sailed, Railey had 11 points. He finished second in both of Sundays' races and took a five-point lead over Britain's Ben Ainslie.

The first three races in the 49er event were sailed Sunday and Britain's Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes took over the lead with 12 points. The Italian team of Pietro and Gianfranco Sibello was in second.

A British team was also in front after four of 11 races in the women's Yngling class. Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson had a seven-point lead over a team from Finland.

The American crew of Sally Barkow, Carrie Howie and Deborah Capozzi was in fourth place.
