Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

CINCINNATI, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Reds placed rookie first baseman Joey Votto on their bereavement list Saturday but the reason was not disclosed at his request.
The 24-year-old slugger is available to return to the team for next Tuesday's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates and must be returned to Cincinnati's 25-man roster by next Saturday.
No team official made a comment.
Votto is hitting .280 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in 386 at-bats (112 games) this season.
The Reds have made two moves by purchasing the contract of infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Louisville and designating right-handed pitcher Marcus McBeth for assignment.
