MLB: Minnesota 7, Kansas City 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Delmon Young and Denard Span had two RBI each Saturday to lead the Minnesota Twins' 7-3 win over Kansas City.

One of Young's two hits was a two-run second-inning homer and one of Span's two hits was a two-run single in the sixth.

Brian Buscher had two hits and one RBI. Justin Morneau drove in a run, one run scored on Alex Gordon's sixth-inning error, while Jason Kubel added two hits in the Twins' third straight victory.

Winner Francisco Liriano (2-3) yielded three earned runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts.

Kansa City's Mark Teahen had two hits and two RBI. Miguel Olivo hit a fourth-inning solo homer and Mike Aviles had two hits for the Royals, who have dropped four in a row.

Losing pitcher Zack Greinke (9-8) gave up six runs -- five earned -- and nine hits in five innings with three walks and six strikeouts in five innings.
