
CINCINNATI, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Brian Moehler gave up a run and five hits in seven innings to lead the Houston Astros' 3-1 win over Cincinnati.
Moehler (8-4) had one of Houston's eight hits, a fifth-inning double, and scored on a wild pitch by Cincinnati starter Brandon Arroyo.
Houston's Miguel Tejada had two hits, one a seventh-inning solo homer, while Lance Berkman hit an RBI single in the first for the Astros, who have won seven of their last nine to improve to 57-59 on the season.
Cincinnati scored on Edwin Encarnacion's seventh-inning infield single. Adam Dunn had two of the five hits in Reds' fifth straight defeat.
Arroyo (10-9) gave up two earned runs and five hits in six innings with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Before the contest, the Reds placed rookie first baseman Joey Votto on the bereavement list.
