MLB: Colorado 6, San Diego 3

DENVER, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Colorado's Ian Stewart and Garrett Atkins combined for five RBI Friday, carrying the Rockies past the San Diego Padres 6-3.

Stewart bashed a two-run home run and Atkins drove in three runs. Clint Barmes got the other Rockies RBI.

Glendon Rusch (5-3) gave up two runs and seven hits over six innings and picked up the win.

Brian Giles hit a solo home run and Kevin Kouzmanoff had three hits for the Padres, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Jake Peavy (8-8) took the loss, allowing three runs, five hits and five walks in six innings.
