BALTIMORE, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Daniel Cabrera surrendered four hits in six scoreless innings Saturday to lead the Baltimore Orioles' 9-0 rout of Texas.
In his best start this season, the inconsistent Cabrera (8-7) walked three batters, fanned three, and -- because 60 of his 102 pitches were strikes -- Texas batters were kept off-balance at the plate.
Melvin Mora had two hits, one a two-run seventh-inning homer, and four RBI. Nick Markakis had two hits, one a three-run second inning homer.
Brian Roberts had two hits and one RBI. Kevin Millar drove in a run, while Juan Castro added three hits for the Orioles, who have won three of four.
Marlon Byrd had two of the five hits in the Rangers' fourth straight defeat.
Losing pitcher Vicente Padilla (12-6) surrendered six earned runs and eight hits in four innings.
