DETROIT, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Rajai Davis had two hits and two RBI Friday and the Oakland A's beat Detroit 4-2 to snap a 10-game losing streak.
Davis' two-run single was part of a three-run top of the fifth, when Oakland overcame a 2-0 deficit.
Emil Brown knocked in a run with a sixth-inning solo homer. Mark Ellis had one RBI and Carlos Gonzalez added two hits for the Athletics, who hadn't won since July 27, when they beat Texas 6-5.
Winner Dallas Braden (3-2) surrendered two earned runs and five hits in seven innings. Brad Ziegler earned his first major league save.
Detroit scored on Marcus Thames' two-run second-inning homer. Edgar Renteria had two of the five hits for the Tigers, who have lost six of seven.
Losing pitcher Kenny Rogers (8-9) gave up four runs -- three earned -- and six hits in seven innings with three walks and five strikeouts.
