MLB: New York Yankees 3, Texas 0

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Mike Mussina pitched seven innings en route to his 15th win and Derek Jeter homered Thursday, leading the New York Yankees past the Texas Rangers 3-0.

Mussina (15-7) scattered eight hits, struck out six batters and walked one. Mariano Rivera pitched a perfect ninth for his 28th save of the season.

Mussina is tied with Cleveland's Cliff Lee for most wins in the American League.

Jeter finished with three hits and two RBI. Johnny Damon drove in New York's other run.

Losing pitcher Scott Feldman (4-5) allowed two runs and seven hits over seven innings.
