
CINCINNATI, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee and Hunter Pence knocked in the four 10th-inning runs Friday when the Houston Astros recorded a 9-5 victory at Cincinnati.
With the contest tied 5-5, Lee hit a tiebreaking two-run double and then Pence launched a two-run homer. Lee finished with four hits and three RBI.
One of Humberto Quintero's two hits was a two-run seventh-inning homer. Kaz Matsui had three hits, one a solo homer. Michael Bourn had two hits and one RBI, while Miguel Tejada added two hits for the Astros, who have won six of their last eight games.
The winner, despite blowing a save chance, was Chris Sampson (6-4).
Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips had two hits, one a two-run third-inning homer. Jeff Keppinger hit a two-run double and a sacrifice fly and no other player had more than one hit for the Reds, who have dropped seven of eight.
The losing pitcher was closer Francisco Cordero (4-4).
