
DENVER, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Lastings Milledge homered twice and the Washington Nationals posted a 6-3 victory Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader at Colorado.
Milledge increased his home run total to 11 by hitting a solo shot in the fifth and a two-run homer in the sixth.
The center fielder's third hit was an RBI single in the seventh.
Emilio Bonafacio had two hits and one RBI.
Willie Harris had one RBI and Ronny Belliard added two hits for the Nationals, who had lost eight of their previous nine games at Colorado's Coors Field.
Winner Jason Bergmann (2-8) gave up an earned run and seven hits in seven innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Colorado's Yorvit Torrealba and Matt Holliday homered.
One of Torrealba's two hits was a two-run ninth inning homer and Holliday hit a solo shot in the eighth.
Brad Hawpe also had two hits for the Rockies, who have split their last 10 games.
The losing pitcher was starter Jeff Francis (3-8).
