NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- NFL fans who engage in drunken or disruptive behavior at U.S. stadiums could lose their season tickets, a new fan conduct code says.

League spokesman Brian McCarthy said the code of conduct, which also applies to tail-gating in stadium parking lots, is intended to restrict disruptive behavior and create a better "fan experience" for everyone involved, USA Today said Wednesday.

"We are committed to improving the fan experience in every way we can -- from the time fans arrive in the parking lot to when they depart the stadium," McCarthy said as the code was released Tuesday. "We want everyone to be able to come to our stadiums and enjoy the entire day."

McCarthy said any of the 32 NFL teams will be allowed to add additional rules to the code and each organization will be required to enforce the new regulations at its sporting facility.

USA Today said the code of conduct was created after the number of fan complaints regarding the game day experience increased during recent seasons.
