VIRGINIA WATER, England, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Vijay Singh, collecting his first PGA Tour victory in 17 months, climbed 11 spots to No. 4 in the latest world golf rankings.

Singh had last won in March 2007 but Sunday shot 2-under-par 68 to win the WGC-Bridgestone Championship. The win was worth $1.35 million and moved Singh back into the top 10.

Outside of Singh's jump to fourth, the top six spots remained in familiar hands. Tiger Woods, as he has been for a total of 507 weeks in his career, is ranked No. 1 with Phil Michelson second and Padraig Harrington third.

After Singh are Ernie Els in fifth and Sergio Garcia in sixth. Geoff Oglivy went from eighth to seventh, exchanging places with Adam Scott. Stewart Cink, seventh a week ago, is ninth and Steve Strickler, ninth last week, is 10th.
