ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Gerald Laird hit two two-run homers for Texas Sunday, leading the Rangers to an 8-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Chris Davis added a solo homer and two RBI and Ramon Vazquez and Marlon Byrd each doubled in a run in the Rangers' fourth win in six games.

Winner Luis Mendoza (3-4) pitched seven innings, allowing four runs and six hits.
Lyle Overbay, Matt Stairs, Adam Lind and Brad Wilkerson each drove in a run for the Jays, who have lost four of six.
David Purcey (1-2), the loser, gave up five runs and three hits, all homers, in five innings.
