RENO, Nev., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Parker McLachlin coasted to his first PGA Tour victory Sunday, winning the Reno-Tahoe Open by seven shots despite shooting 2-over-par 74 in the final round.

McLachlin, of Scottsdale, Ariz., said the fan support he received at the Montreux Golf and Country Club made the round seem "like a home game out there."

The 28-year-old former UCLA All-Pac 10 golfer led by six strokes entering the final round at Reno. He finished at 18-under 270 and won $540,000.

Winning a PGA tournament has been "a dream of mine since I was about 12," McLachlin said. "It's just a huge stepping stone for me."

John Rollins (71) and Brian Davis (75) tied for second place at 11-under 277.

Four players shared fourth place: Martin Laird (66) Harrison Frazar (69), Eric Axley (69) and Ryan Palmer (70).
