OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The San Jose Earthquakes snapped an eight-game Major League Soccer winless streak Sunday, edging Los Angeles 3-2 on a 90th-minute goal by Ryan Cochrane.

The Earthquakes built a 2-0 lead on first-half goals by Arturo Alvarez and Darren Huckerby.

Los Angeles, which hasn't won in seven straight games, caught up with goals by Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle. Donovan's goal, his 13th this season, tied him with Dallas's Kenny Cooper for the MLS scoring lead.

Cochrane's match-winner was a rebound shot into the right corner of the net.

San Jose is now 4-9-6, Los Angeles 6-8-5.
