MIAMI, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Winner Rickey Nolasco fanned 13 batters in eight innings Saturday to help the Florida Marlins record a 5-3 victory against Colorado.
In his first win since July 7 -- and one of his best career starts -- Nolasco (11-6) did not walk a batter and 67 of his 93 pitches were strikes.
Closer Kevin Gregg pitched a scoreless ninth -- working around a leadoff double – to earn his 24th save.
John Baker drove in three runs, two with a second-inning homer.
Josh Willingham and Mike Jacobs had one RBI each, while Willingham and Jeremy Hermida had two hits each to give the Marlins their third win in four games.
Matt Holliday had three of Colorado's five hits, including two solo homers. Brad Hawpe added a first-inning sacrifice fly for the Rockies, who have lost four of six.
Losing pitcher Valerio De Los Santos (0-1) struck out eight batters in four innings.
