
SHAKOPEE, Minn., July 30 (UPI) -- A group of 64 horses has been selected for Saturday's 10th running of the Claiming Crown at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.
A news release noted that the event includes seven races and is open to horses that have started at least once in 2007-08 for claiming prices ranging from $7,500 to $35,000.
Collectively, the group made their most recent starts at racetracks in 17 different U.S. states.
The first Claiming Crown race is the $50,000 Iron Horse, open to three-year-olds-and-up who have run for $7,500 or less in 2007-08.
Race four is the $75,000 Glass Slipper, a six-furlong race for fillies and mares who have run for $16,000 or less.
A select field of five, headed by 9-5 morning line choice Morghyn, with the 2-1 second choice being Quick Sale.
The day's largest field comes in race seven, the $75,000 Rapid Transit, a six-furlong race for three-year-olds-and-up who have run for $16,000 or less this season.
Allnightdance was installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite.
