MLB: Kansas City 4, Oakland 2

OAKLAND, Calif., July 29 (UPI) -- Alex Gordon and Jose Guillen each had a two-run homer and Zack Greinke struck out a career-high 11 Monday when the Kansas City Royals beat Oakland 4-2.

Greinke (8-7) allowed seven hits and two runs with one walk for the Royals, who won their second straight game after losing five of six.

Joakim Soria pitched a perfect ninth to get his 28th save.

Dallas Braden (2-1) allowed four runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Kurt Suzuki had three hits and scored a run for the A's, who lost for the 10th time in their last 12 games.
