MLB: Cleveland 5, Detroit 0

CLEVELAND, July 28 (UPI) -- Paul Byrd and Edward Mujica combined for a four-hit shutout Monday to pitch the Cleveland Indians to a 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Byrd (5-10) won consecutive starts for the first time this season, giving up four hits and three walks in 7 2/3 innings for the Indians, who had lost four of five going into the game.

Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run homer and Jhonny Peralta drove in two runs for the Indians.

Kenny Rogers (8-7) took the loss after he gave up five runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings for the Tigers, who have lost three of four.

Curtis Granderson had two of Detroit's four hits.
