Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
CARSON, Calif., July 27 (UPI) -- Russian Dinara Safina notched the seventh title of her WTA career Sunday, winning the East West Bank Classic in California.
Safina, the tournament's fourth seed, defeated 10th-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-4, 6-2 in the final.
The 22-year-old Russian had eliminated top-seeded Jelena Jankovic in the semifinals.
"I was a little bit nervous but I think I played a pretty good match for the final," Safina said.
