KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 27 (UPI) -- Carl Crawford's eighth-inning triple Saturday produced the two winning runs in the Tampa Bay Rays' rain-delayed 5-3 victory at Kansas City.
It was Crawford's second hit of the contest. Willy Aybar, Eric Hinske and Carlos Pena each drove in a run for the Rays -- and Pena had two hits, including a homer, in the Rays' third win in their last four games.
The game was delayed by rain for 73 minutes in the bottom of the fifth.
Winner Al Reyes (2-2) tossed a scoreless seventh after starter Scott Kazmir yielded two earned runs and seven hits in five innings with no walks and five strikeouts.
Jose Guillen, Ross Gload and Esteban German each drove in a run for Kansas City. Mark Grudzielanek had three hits, while Gload and German had two hits apiece for the Royals, who have lost five of six.
The losing pitcher was reliever Horacio Ramirez (1-1).
Kansas City starter Luke Hochevar gave up two earned runs and four hits in five innings.
