Jordan a no-show at Raiders training camp

NAPA VALLEY, Calif., July 24 (UPI) -- Veteran running back LaMont Jordan was a no-show when the Oakland Raiders opened training camp Thursday at Napa Valley, Calif.

The 230-pounder complied with an order from the organization not to associate with the team.

"The Raiders have informed LaMont Jordan to not report to training camp with the rest of the team," Jordan's agent, Alvin Keels, said in an e-mail this week. "It is more clear now than ever that he will not be in a Raider uniform (this season). We now need the Raiders to either trade him, release him or let him come to camp and participate if he is still on the roster."

The Oakland Tribune reported that Coach Lane Kiffin told Jordan at a June mini-camp that he didn't fit into the team's plans and that Keels was given permission to seek a trade.

"LaMont won't be here and we won't be fining him," Kiffin told reporters in a brief statement.
