NEW YORK, July 23 (UPI) -- A three-run homer by Jose Reyes in the sixth put New York in front Wednesday and the Mets moved into a tie for the division lead by downing Philadelphia 6-3.

The blast by Reyes broke a 3-3 tie and the Mets hung on for their second victory in five games.

John Maine (9-7) gave up three runs on six hits and struck out five over seven innings to get the win. Billy Wagner recorded his 25th save.

Brett Myers made his first start for Philadelphia in almost a month and he left with the game tied after five innings.

Ryan Madison (2-1) took over for Myers and gave up singles to Damion Easley and Brian Schneider before Reyes hit his homer.

Shane Victorino and Geoff Jenkins hit solo homers for the Phillies in the second. Philadelphia has lost three out of four.

The Mets and Phillies own a one-game lead over third-place Florida in the NL East.
