MLB: Detroit 7, Kansas City 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 23 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera had two hits and three RBI and Armando Galarraga yielded a run and three hits in seven innings Wednesday in Detroit's 7-1 rout of Kansas City.

Galarraga (8-4), who had a perfect game through six innings, walked one batter, fanned seven, and threw 57 of his 87 pitches for strikes. His perfect game chance ended with David DeJesus' leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh.

Magglio Ordonez had three hits and two RBI. Edgar Renteria had two hits and one RBI, while Placido Polanco added three hits for the Tigers, who completed a three-game road sweep.

Kansas City's run scored on Jose Guillen's seventh-inning single.

DeJesus had two hits and Alex Gordon one for the Royals, who have dropped five of their last seven games.

Losing pitcher Zack Greinke (7-7) surrendered five earned runs and seven hits in six innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
