
HOUSTON, July 22 (UPI) -- Freddy Sanchez had a three-run inside-the-park homer and finished with four RBI and two runs Monday night to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates past Houston 9-3.
Down 3-2 in the ninth, the Pirates erupted for seven runs and went on to win for the first time in their last six games.
Jason Bay had four hits, including a ninth-inning home run that tied the game 3-3. Adam LaRoche drove in the game-winning run with a two-run homer in the ninth, and Nate McLouth and Xavier Nady had three hits each.
Tyler Yates (4-2) got the win, pitching a scoreless eighth inning for the Pirates.
Carlos Lee had a pair of RBI singles and Brad Ausmus had two hits and drove in a run for Houston, which has lost two straight games following a four-game winning streak.
Jose Valverde (4-3), pitching in relief in the ninth, took the loss for the Astros.
